Obi Imegwu, MD, FACS
General and Vascular Surgery & Advanced Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgeon.
Dr. Imegwu began his professional education at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, earning his Bachelor of Arts. After graduation, Dr. Imegwu enrolled at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and obtained his medical degree. Before entering private practice, he completed a general surgery residency and a research fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center in The Bronx, New York. He also completed a vascular surgery fellowship at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School – Rutgers University in Newark.
Dr. Imegwu is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Medical Association. As a surgeon, he has special interests in minimally invasive surgery as well as open and minimally invasive vascular surgery.
Dr. Imegwu loves getting to know his patients. His attention to detail and caring bedside manner earned him a Patient Choice Award in 2011 as well as Compassionate Doctor Recognition in 2011 and 2012.
Outside of work, Dr. Imegwu enjoys contributing to medical journals — his work has appeared in several clinical publications.
